One of the most critical aspects of modern architecture associated with HVAC systems is its ability to maintain indoor air quality (IAQ). The air quality is vital for sustaining strong human health. In the last few years, more attention has been provided to improving HVAC architecture so that it becomes easier to remove air pollutants.

What is the main purpose of HVAC?

The main purpose of HVAC systems is to help provide thermal comfort and improve air quality within the architectural ecosystem. The HVAC system is crucial in maintaining good Indoor air quality, achieved by removing air pollutants and allergens.

It is also associated with helping regulate temperature and humidity within the architectural structure and preventing bacteria or mold growth. Through it’s efficient design it becomes easier to take control of the surrounding conditions and make the work space comfortable.

Now that we have a basic understanding of HVAC systems let’s learn about the different types of HVAC Systems.

Types of HVAC Systems

The HVAC systems are vital for managing extreme temperatures when working or living in buildings. Before gaining a better perspective on the types of HVAC systems, it is important to mention that the system in itself is of two types:

●      Ducted: Here, the main unit pushes the air through a series of ducts to help cool or heat the building.

●      Ductless: There is a lack of ducts, so alternative methods are used to distribute the treated material throughout the entire space.

Let’s get more perspective on the types of HVAC systems.

1. Split System

In the case of HVAC Split System, this is mostly used for homes that have a huge space for spacious indoor cabinets. In the case of the system the model comprises two major components of the condenser and the compressor both of which are present in the outdoor cabinet.

There is another separate indoor cabinet that is responsible for holding the evaporator coil along with an air handler that is used to manage the cool air through the duct system. Both the units are connected by insulated tubes.

2. Hybrid Split System

In the hybrid Split system, there is the presence of an electric powered heat pump that comes with propane, oil and a conventional. When outside temperature decreases, the system utilizes its heat pump to pull the outside air and warm the home.

This is considered the best choice for heating up homes in warm regions.

3. Packaged Heating and Cooling

In this method there are both hitting and cooling components present in a single box cabinet. Considered to be the best alternative for small homes having insufficient indoor spaces or underground spaces. It produces warm air through a heat pump that pulls the cold air from outside.

Once the heat is drawn to the refrigerant, the coils are heated to produce warmth. cool the air, the refrigerant absorbs the heat and expels it out.

Conclusion

Hence, it is important to have proper knowledge about the types of HVAC systems when deciding what kind of HVAC features to use in a building.
